My Treatment For Depression & Anxiety: This Is What Works For ME
I am not a doctor and I am not suggesting that if you have depression and have only tried a few anti-depressants to go out and order this medication online. This is my story and what has helped for me. I currently take Tramadol also known as Ultram to treat my depression and anxiety. It is a non-narcotic pain medication that has similar effects on the brain as opiate painkillers. I was originally prescribed this for pain and it had no affect on the pain whatsoever but it did make me feel 100% better mentally and emotionally. Finding a doctor who will prescribe Tramadol for depression is basically near impossible. I discussed the research I did online about this with my doctor and he was willing to start me on Tramadol for depression. I have taken this for over 2 years and have not had to increase my dose or feel I have a tolerance. It doesn't make you "high" or euphoric like hydrocodone based meds, it just makes ME feel normal. Some people have tried this and says it makes them feel worse. Everyone is different. But this has helped me when nothing else has. I have taken over 40 different medications in the last 12 years for depression, bipolar, anxiety, boarderline and had horrible side effects from them all.
