(COLTON, Calif.) Community leaders, educators and government officials learned recently how Four-D College, a private health-care focused college in Colton and Victorville, helps the Inland Empire fill its need for nurses and health care workers. "We are here to give our nursing and health care graduates the skills they need for employment," said Linda Smith, founder, CEO and President of Four-D College. "If we cannot find our students employment, we are not doing our job. Jobs in health care are available, so there is no reason a graduate of Four-D College should not be able to find a job." Smith noted that Four-D College offers its graduates lifetime job placement assistance. "Even if they graduated in 1992 (the first year the college had graduates), they can still come back and we will help them," she said. "Our students come from various backgrounds," said Four-D College Director of Admissions Debra Daniel. "Some are changing careers for economic reasons. They already have a family they need to provide for." "Others are young parents, who are now seeing the importance of education," Daniel said. "And still others are young people who are looking for direction and have heard the medical field pays well."
